Hailing from France and rapidly establishing themselves as a major international musical force, the Ebène Quartet’s recording of the Debussy, Ravel and Fauré quartets was named Gramophone magazine’s 2009 Record of the Year.

Da Camera presents the Houston debut of the Quartet in a program featuring the turn-of-the-century Parisian masterpieces with which this chamber group has risen to stardom.

“Their playing was secure, alive, r ich-toned, and profoundly musical… Their performance of the Ravel Quartet was a riot of nuance, sometimes raptly lyrical and sometimes swingingly rhythmic…They seem bound for greatness” – Alex Ross, The New Yorker, citing an Ebène Quartet concert as one of 10 memorable performances of 2009

“Beautifully crafted per formances….intense concentration and flair [in Fauré]..elation and rhythmic zest [in Debussy].” – Sunday Telegraph
