His recordings, including the latest, Triple Play, document his soulful, swinging style. A self-taught musician influenced by players such as B.B. King, Wes Montgomery, George Benson and Kenny Burrell, Russell Malone gained recognition in the 90’s touring internationally with vocalist Diana Krall, receiving critical acclaim in his role as Krall’s right hand both in concert and on her recordings.
