Alexander Garde, percussion

Alexander Garde is a multi-disciplinary percussionist based in Houston, Texas, pursuing his Master’s Degree at Rice University under the tutelage of Matthew Strauss. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, where he was the recipient of the 2020 George Whitefield Chadwick Medal. Alex’s passion for both contemporary and orchestral music has allowed him to serve as a founding member of Boston-based new music ensemble Alinéa as well as perform with world-class ensembles such as the Tanglewood Music Center and as a substitute with the New World Symphony. An advocate for community outreach and education, Alex has proudly worked with DACAMERA and NEC’s Preparatory School to inspire the next generation of musicians.
