Cellist Bree Ahern is a versatile solo and chamber musician committed to building community through performing, teaching, and collaborating across art forms. As a member of Kinetic Ensemble and Loop38, she regularly presents newly composed works and interdisciplinary programs to diverse audiences throughout Houston. Her work as a Young Artist with DACAMERA and the Monarch Chamber Players focuses on citizen artistry and taking classical music out of the concert hall to promote accessibility in the arts and be of service to underserved communities. Equally dedicated as a pedagogue, Bree is on faculty at San Jacinto College and AFA’s Chamber Music Academy. She is a recent graduate of Rice University, where she studied under Norman Fischer.
