Danielle Chan

Percussionist Danielle Chan, a native of Houston, is a freelance musician, educator in the Fort Bend District and consultant with the HSPVA percussion studio.

She has performed with several organizations including MUSIQA, UH Opera, the steel drum band the Pantagonists, Percussion trio 3G, and the prestigious Moore School Percussion Ensemble. She has also performed with numerous church orchestras and as orchestral back up to the rock band, Kansas, with the Fort bend Symphony.

Ms. Chan received her bachelor’s degree in both music education and music performance from the Moore’s School of music at the University of Houston, studying with Blake Wilkins, Alec Warren, and Joel Fulgham. She has also participated in masterclasses led by So Percussion, Meehan Perkins Duo, She-e Wu, Chris Lamb, Brian Zator, Mark Ford, Vadim Karpinos, Frederic Macarez, Javier Diaz and Wilson Torres.

When she is not performing, Ms. Chan enjoys competitive swimming, stand up paddle boarding, exploring the different cultures of Houston, and discovering little known local establishments.
