Matt Richards, percussion

Matt Richards is a percussionist with the Midland-Odessa Symphony and Chorale and principal percussionist of the Missouri Symphony. He has performed with the Houston Symphony, Fort Worth Symphony, New World Symphony, Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Abilene Philharmonic, San Juan Symphony, and Kaleidoscope Chamber Orchestra. Mr. Richards completed a Graduate Certificate in percussion performance at the USC Thornton School of Music, studying under Jim Babor and Joe Pereira of the Los Angeles Philharmonic. Additionally, he holds an M.M. from California State University, Northridge and a B.M. from University of California, Santa Barbara. He was an instrumental fellow of the National Orchestral Institute, Orchestra of the Americas, and Marrowstone Music Festival, and can be heard on the Naxos Recording, “American Classics,” released in 2016.
