Israeli-born clarinetist Ran Kampel enjoys a versatile career of solo, chamber music, and orchestral performances. He has been the principal clarinet of the Jacksonville Symphony, interim principal clarinet of the Grand Rapids Symphony, and a fellow with the New World Symphony. He has also performed as a guest musician with the Cleveland Orchestra and the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra. During his time at New World Symphony, he won the concerto competition and performed the Nielsen Clarinet Concerto with the orchestra on subscription concerts. During the summers, Mr. Kampel has performed at Salzburg, Schleswig-Holstein, Tanglewood, Yellow Barn, Krzyżowa-Music, Lakes Area, Britten–Pears, and Breckenridge music festivals. He is a Buffet Crampon USA Performing Artist and performs exclusively on Buffet Crampon instruments. Outside the concert hall, he enjoys cooking, skiing, hiking, and playing tennis and soccer.
