Stephanie Bork

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Stephanie Bork came to the violin at a young age through a children’s television show and has been playing ever since. She received her Bachelor of Music in violin from the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music and a Master of Music from The University of Michigan. Her primary instructors have included Hai-Xin Wu, Piotr Milewski, and Aaron Berofsky.

Ms. Bork has played with a number of symphony orchestras and opera companies, including the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera, Toledo Symphony, Lansing Symphony Orchestra, and the Ann Arbor Symphony. She currently maintains a private studio in the Houston area and works as a freelance violinist. She is also a substitute violinist with the Houston Symphony and the Houston Grand Opera. Ms. Bork looks forward to performing Tosca and Siegfried with HGO in the coming season.

When she is not playing the violin, Ms. Bork enjoys running, traveling, and reading history. She is currently training for a half marathon and trying to learn Spanish with the hope of traveling to South America in the future.
