Elias String Quartet (Sara Bitlloch, violin; Donald Grant, violin; Simone van der Giessen, viola; Marie Bitlloch, cello)

The internationally-acclaimed Elias String Quartet is one of the most intense and vibrant quartets of their generation, and a favorite of DACAMERA audiences. Composer Sally Beamish recently received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours, for her services to music. This performance features the U.S. premiere of Beamish’s Quartet No. 4, her response to Schumann’s A Minor Quartet. As an encore, enjoy the Elias’s rousing arrangements of Scottish folk tunes.

“There’s something intoxicating about the Elias String Quartet…. Intensely absorbing, exquisitely considered….stunning.”– Philadelphia Inquirer
