Friday August 20 at 9:45 PM: Pianist José-Miguel Yamal and Phase 1

José-Miguel Yamal studied classical guitar and jazz piano at Houston’s High School for the Performing and Visual Arts, and has collaborated with jazz greats and salsa singers. His eclectic sound — which draws from jazz, Afro-Cuban jazz, neo soul, funk and more — is deeply influenced by Houston’s cultural diversity.

DACAMERA returns to the concert hall and to Houston’s downtown Theater District for a summer jazz festival, celebrating jazz in downtown Houston in safe, socially-distant concerts also available as streams. DACAMERA celebrates the local scene with free performances by Houston-based musicians.

DACAMERA’s HOUSTON SUMMERJAZZ is made possible in part by Texas Commission on the Arts Cultural District Program and by the City of Houston’s Initiative Grant.
