Brooklyn Rider: Frida’s Dreams

Brooklyn Rider’s DACAMERA debut, with the world premiere of a new string quartet by acclaimed composer Gabriela Lena Frank, inspired by paintings of Frida Kahlo. Plus music of Colin Jacobsen and Osvaldo Golijov and arrangements of folk songs. In conjunction with the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston’s exhibition Frida: The Making of an Icon, on view January 19 to May 17.

Schubert Perspectives #2: The Grammy Award-winning Parker Quartet’s return to the DACAMERA stage features Beethoven’s “Serioso” quartet, a propulsive Philip Glass quartet, and Schubert’s Cello Quintet, widely considered the most beautiful work in all of chamber music.
