Meet the Guests of Honor

“One of the most admired pianists of his generation” (New York Times), Inon Barnatan has received universal acclaim for his “uncommon sensitivity” (The New Yorker), “impeccable musicality and phrasing” (Le Figaro), and his stature as “a true poet of the keyboard: refined, searching, unfailingly communicative” (The Evening Standard). A multifaceted musician, Barnatan is equally celebrated as soloist, curator and collaborator. His most recent recording is Rachmaninoff Reflections, offering some of the composer’s most cherished piano works, including his Moments musicaux.

Violinist Tessa Lark is one of the most captivating artistic voices of our time, consistently praised by critics and audiences for her astounding range of sounds, technical agility, and musical elegance. Increasingly in demand in the classical realm, in 2020 she was nominated for a Grammy in the Best Classical Instrumental Solo category. She is also a highly acclaimed fiddler in the tradition of her native Kentucky, delighting audiences with programming that includes Appalachian and bluegrass music and inspiring composers to write for her.

Violist Hsin-Yun Huang has forged a career by performing on international concert stages, commissioning and recording new works and nurturing young musicians. She tours extensively with the Brentano String Quartet, most notably including performances of the complete Mozart string quintets at Carnegie Hall. She was a member of the Borromeo String Quartet from 1994 to 2000.

Principal Cello of the Seattle Symphony since 2011, Efe Baltacıgil was previously Associate Principal Cello of The Philadelphia Orchestra. Recent highlights include his debut with the Berlin Philharmonic, performances of Tchaikovsky’s Variations on a Rococo Theme with the Bilkent Symphony and the Seattle Symphony, and Brahms’ Double Concerto with violinist Juliette Kang and the Curtis Symphony Orchestra. Mr. Baltacıgil performed a Brahms Sextet with Itzhak Perlman, Midori, Yo-Yo Ma, Pinchas Zukerman and Jessica Thompson at Carnegie Hall and has participated in Yo-Yo Ma’s Silk Road Project.

Robin Kesselman was appointed Principal Bass of the Houston Symphony Orchestra in 2014. He has performed as Guest Principal Bass with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra, Singapore Symphony Orchestra and the Israel Philharmonic, travelled internationally with the Philadelphia Orchestra and Los Angeles Philharmonic and appeared with the National, Atlanta and Baltimore symphonies.
