Music journalist Nate Chinen spotlights Sarah Rothenberg recital stream

Esteemed music journalist Nate Chinen, formerly of The New York Times and WGBO and a frequent contributor to NPR Music, has spotlighted the stream of pianist Sarah Rothenberg’s recital In Darkness and Light, streaming now through Sept. 29. Chinen calls composer Vijay Iyer’s For My Father, which had its world premiere at the May recital, “a stirring piano elegy.” He goes on to write “In Rothenberg’s hands, the prelude moves in a deep, fluttering rubato, with a harmonic and kinetic signature pointing unmistakably toward Iyer.”
