“one of the more exciting young tenor saxophonists today” — The New York Times

Melissa Aldana, tenor saxophone; Lex Korten, piano; Pablo Menares, bass; Jochen Rueckert, drums

Twice Grammy-nominated for Best Improvised Jazz solo, saxophonist and composer Melissa Aldana has garnered international recognition for her visionary work as a band leader, as well as her bold and often meditative compositions. Signed to Blue Note Records, she released the acclaimed 12 Stars on the storied label in 2022. In naming her earlier Visions among the best albums of 2019 for NPR Music, critic Nate Chinen wrote that Aldana “has the elusive ability to balance technical achievement against a rich emotional palette.”
