Missy Mazzoli, is the composer of the 2026-27 season, with a premiere at the Edinburgh Festival; the premiere of Lincoln in the Bardo at the Metropolitan Opera; the world premiere of a new piano concerto commissioned by the New York Philharmonic – and a world premiere presented by DACAMERA – Mazzoli’s fresh new take on the piano quartet, commissioned in honor of Artistic Director Sarah Rothenberg.
Mazzoli and Mozart meet here. The program opens with Mazzoli’s hauntingly beautiful violin solo, composed for Grammy Award-winning Jennifer Koh and inspired by Bach’s celebrated Chaconne. Mozart’s brilliant G Minor piano quartet — the first work of its kind to achieve such stature — brings operatic drama to the chamber music hall. Debussy’s two sonatas show the French composer, late in life, bringing his imagination to classical forms with dazzling results. Missy Mazzoli, equally expressive in opera and instrumental works, makes her mark with the world premiere of  her piano quartet.
